Workspaces
MBAT offers different Workspaces that optimize the configuration of the interface for specific tasks. The MBAT Startup Page points the user to the various Workspaces. Once the user is inside the application other Workspaces can be accessed through the Workspace pull-down menu.
The quicklinks offered from the Startup Page include Search by Region of Interest, Query Data, Open Data, View Atlas and Create Atlas. The icons associated are on the right. These were created to offer simple user workflows in MBAT.
View Atlas pops up an Open dialog box that allows a user to open his or her desired atlas. The default atlas provided with MBAT is MDA2006_STX.atlas. Other atlases can be downloaded from the BIRN website. For more info, please see Atlases under Features on this web page. Once the user has opened an atlas, the program automatically opens the BrainGraph tool to help with navigation of the brain.
Open Data pops up an Open dialog box that allows a user to open his or her desired data.
Query Data moves the user to the search portion of MBAT where the user can choose query fields and download data from a number of mouse databases.
Search by Region of Interest (ROI) opens the main MBAT atlas and the BrainGraph tool by default. It also opens the ROI tool tool to delineate a ROI for query.
Create Atlas is for advanced users who would like to create their own atlas. This layout includes the Volumes palette, the Labels palette and the Paint Tools. The user may open any data set for development of their atlas.
