Browsing the iTools Resources

Currently we've implemented three different ways of browsing the collection of iTools resources. These may be extended as needs arise.

  • Hyperbolic: Use the default hyperbolic display to search or traverse the iTools resources (click on the image above for a larger view of the default hyperbolic display).
  • Hierarchical: This browsing schema allows using traversing the resource collections according to the NCBC SW Tool Ontology. Select "NCBC" (default) item from the drop-down list of Resources in the left panel. Then double-click on any of the top-level ontology nodes (Analysis, ..., Visualization). This will expand the Ontology hierarchy and allow the user to reach specific tools within each category (leaf-nodes in the Ontology tree).
  • Flat: The "IATR" resources is composed of the current tools described in IATR. This collection may be augmented either manually, or automatically parsing external resources (e.g., DBs of tools like IATR). This view allows flat alphabetical traversal of resources. Notice that this view and these resources are independent of the "NCBC Resources".
  • Center-specific: By selecting a specific center from the resource drop-down list in the left, one may also traverse the resources described by each of the NCBC centers.
